offer. Our recruiters care about our travelers. They offer one-to-one
personal service and every helpful tip to make your travel assignment
an adventure you will never forget.
Q: How do I join the team to travel with Winyah Nursing Services,
Inc.?
A: Complete the application
and skills checklist and
let your recruiter take it from there.
Q: What requirements do I need to meet to become a traveler for
Winyah Nursing Services, Inc.?
A: You must have at least 12 months of acute care facility experience
and complete the application
and skills checklist. When
this is completed, your recruiter will then contact you to discuss
what type of assignment you are interested in.
Q: When will I be offered an assignment?
A: You will be given a list of assignments that best suits your
qualifications. If you are not happy with these, just tell us where
you want to go, and we will start pursing all areas to get you what
you want.
Q: What type of assignments do you have?
A: Most assignments are 13 weeks. Some facilities also have assignments
that are 4 weeks and others that could last as long as 26 weeks.
Q: Do I have to take the assignments that you choose?
A: Absolutely not. You will be given a description of the facility,
location, area you will be working, and your salary. Then it is
your decision to choose whether this meets your needs or not.
Q: What happens next?
A: Your profile will be submitted to the facility of your choice.
You will then be interviewed via telephone by the facility, and
you can decide if this is right for you.
Q: If I decide to accept the assignment, whats next?
A: You will be given the necessary information on obtaining a license
for that particular state. You will also receive a confirmation
package, which contains a copy of your contract, where your apartment
is located, a map of the city, and other amenities.
Q: What will my housing be like?
A: Our housing is always located as near to the facility as possible.
When we choose the apartment for you, it will always be in a neighborhood
that is safe. Your apartment will come furnished with all utilities
prearranged for you. After you arrive, the only things you have
to do are pick up your key and unpack. Or, you can choose your own
housing and be compensated.
Q: What if I decide to provide my own housing?
A: You can do this too. You will receive a generous housing allowance
that you can use anywhere that you choose.
Q: Will I be guaranteed my hours and pay?
A: Absolutely, most assignments guarantee a minimum of 36 hours
per week. However, depending on the facility, some contracts allow
the right to cancel one shift per pay period. If this should happen,
you MUST be offered an alternate shift in return in order to achieve
your full 36 hours per week.
Q: When will I receive my paychecks?
A: Winyah Nursing Services, Inc., pays travelers on a weekly basis,
but if you need your check earlier, you can be paid on a daily basis.
Per-diem staff gets paid on a daily basis.
Q: Will I get health insurance?
A: Yes, you will receive major-medical insurance at no cost to you.
If you need insurance for your family, you can purchase this at
the group rates, and premiums can be deducted from your paycheck.
